I’m Sorry

She stood in front of me,

broken, unnoticeable.

With my teary eyes,

I stared at her.

And saw her fiery eyes staring back at me.

For a long time,

we stood and never moved.

She seemed to open her mouth

to utter words I seem to be longing to hear.

I waited.

Silence.

Tears ran down her cheeks as I muttered

“You’ve changed. A lot.”

A river of tears answered.

A teardrop, one after the other

rolled on my cheeks as I mumbled,

“I’m sorry.”
